Is a clay mitt or clay towel safer than a traditional clay bar?
Synthetic clay mitts, towels and pads are faster and can be rinsed if dropped, which makes them convenient. However, they are not automatically gentler: many synthetic media scratch soft paint as much as or more than fine clay. The safety of either method depends on the grade, lubrication and pressure. Test on a small area and inspect before doing the whole car.
