Why does my car paint feel rough even immediately after washing?
A normal wash removes loose soil but not all bonded contamination. Iron particles, tar, industrial fallout, overspray and tree residue can remain attached to the paint and make it feel rough. A simple check is to place a thin plastic sandwich bag over your fingertips and glide it lightly across clean, dry paint; the bag exaggerates bonded particles. Decontamination is required when washing alone does not restore smoothness.
