How do I remove baked-on tree sap without damaging clear coat?
Soften the sap first and use an automotive-safe sap or adhesive remover rather than scraping it dry. Work on a cool panel, allow the chemistry time to loosen the deposit, and wipe gently, repeating if necessary. Aggressive scraping or fingernails can scratch the paint or remove protection. Wash the area afterward to remove solvent residue, and reapply protection if the remover has stripped it.
