Why does piano-black interior trim scratch even when cleaned with microfiber?
Piano-black surfaces are extremely glossy and often made from relatively soft plastic, so even very fine scratches are highly visible. Dust itself can be abrasive, meaning a clean microfiber towel can still create marks if dry particles are dragged across the surface. Remove loose dust with a soft brush or air first, lightly mist an interior detailer onto the towel and wipe with minimal pressure.
