How do I remove light scratches from piano-black trim?
Very fine scratches can often be reduced with a fine finishing polish applied by hand with a soft foam or microfiber applicator and gentle pressure, then wiped off with a clean towel. Piano-black plastic is thin and soft, so aggressive compounds or machine polishing can cause haze or burn through any coating. Deep scratches cannot be removed safely. A protective film or coating afterward helps reduce new marks.
