Why does my ceramic coating sheet water instead of beading?
Some coatings are designed to sheet water rather than form tight beads, so check the product's intended behavior first. If the coating originally beaded and now sheets, there are two common causes: contamination masking the surface, and wear of the coating itself, especially on older coatings and on the hood, roof and other high-exposure panels. Decontaminate first: if beading returns, contamination was the cause. If the panel still sheets after a thorough decontamination, the coating is most likely worn in that area and should be inspected for a topper or reapplication.
