How do I stop a foaming interior cleaner from leaving white residue or streaks?
White residue or streaks after a foam cleaner usually mean too much product was left on the surface and allowed to dry, especially in textured plastic, on warm panels or in direct sun. Ready-to-use cleaners do not need extra dilution or a heavier coat to work better. Spray a light amount onto a microfiber towel or soft brush rather than straight onto the panel, work in small sections, agitate gently and wipe the area clean with a fresh microfiber before the foam dries. If any residue remains, go over it once more with a towel lightly dampened with clean water and then dry it. Test a new cleaner on a small, hidden area first.
