Can ammonia-based glass cleaner damage window tint?
Ammonia-based cleaners can degrade some aftermarket window films over time, causing discoloration, bubbling or peeling. Many tint installers recommend ammonia-free cleaners for this reason. Ammonia can also dry out rubber and some interior plastics. Use a tint-safe, ammonia-free glass cleaner on tinted windows and follow the film manufacturer's care instructions. Newly installed tint also needs time to cure before cleaning, so ask the installer how long to wait before washing the inside of the glass.
