Will a ceramic coating hide scratches and swirl marks?

No. A ceramic coating can add gloss and make very fine scratches slightly less obvious, but it does not fill or remove scratches and swirl marks. Because the coating is clear and thin, it preserves whatever is underneath, including scratches and swirls. Swirls and light scratches need to be polished out before coating; deeper scratches may need touch-up paint or repainting by a body shop. Products sold as scratch fillers only hide scratches temporarily and can stop a coating from bonding.
