Why does tire dressing sling onto my paint, and how do I stop it?
Sling happens when excess dressing on the tire is thrown off by centrifugal force as the wheel turns. Applying too much product, applying it to a wet or dirty tire, and driving before it dries are the usual causes. Apply a thin, even coat with an applicator rather than spraying, wipe off excess, let it dry fully before driving and choose water-based or dry-to-touch dressings if sling is a recurring problem.
