Why do tires turn brown even after they have been cleaned?
Tire browning can come from road contamination, old dressing residue and compounds within the rubber, such as antiozonants, migrating to the surface, often called blooming. Thorough cleaning with a dedicated tire cleaner and a stiff brush, repeated until the foam stops turning brown, may reduce the appearance, but some browning is a normal consequence of tire chemistry and environmental exposure.
