Why does my PPF-covered car look dirtier than before the film was installed?
Film surfaces can attract and hold dirt differently from clear coat. As the film's factory topcoat wears, surface energy rises, static charge can draw dust and fine texture gives grime more grip. Residue from oily detailing products makes it worse. Washing regularly with a pH-neutral shampoo, avoiding wax-heavy products and adding a film-compatible coating usually restore easier cleaning.
