What happens if I wipe a ceramic coating before it has finished flashing?
Wiping too early can remove too much product before it has begun to bond, leaving a thinner or patchy layer with uneven protection. It can also smear the coating rather than level it, creating streaks. Flashing behavior depends on the formulation, temperature and humidity, so follow the manufacturer's guidance and watch the surface: many coatings show a sweating, rainbow-like or slightly hazy appearance when they are ready to be leveled.
