Does applying more ceramic coating make it thicker or last longer?
Not by itself. Most of any excess product is removed during leveling, and coating that is left too thick tends to cure as a high spot rather than as extra protection. Cured coatings are extremely thin, and their durability depends mainly on the chemistry, surface preparation, curing conditions and maintenance. Applying an even layer at the amount the manufacturer recommends gives better results than using extra product.
