Upgrade Your PPF Protection: Meet Nasiol PPFGuard New Formula

Author: Nasiol

Investing in PPF sounds very reasonable as it protects your paint from chips, scratches and various other environmental damages. Without any doubt PPF is the best protection for your paint. However, it should also be considered what is the best defense for the PPF itself?

The answer is Nasiol PPFGuard, a flexible nano ceramic coating engineered specifically for PPF. Nasiol is now proud to introduce the PPFGuard New Formula, a major upgrade that enhances both the protection it offers and the ease of application. If you are a professional installer looking to boost your efficiency or a car owner who wants the maximum lifespan for your film, this New Formula delivers.

Why Your PPF Needs PPFGuards

Nasiol PPFGuard is not just a coating; it is an enhancement. It provides high water repellency and easy-to-clean properties. Crucially, it does this without affecting the characteristics of the underlying protective film, such as its self-healing ability or its original matt finish. By applying PPFGuard, you are actively extending the lifetime of your PPF investment.

The Evolution: What is New and Improved?

The goal for the PPFGuard New Formula was straightforward. We wanted to make applications faster and easier while significantly increasing protection. These four key improvements make the New Formula a must-have for anyone working with or owning PPF:

1. Faster Application: The Single-Layer Advantage

The biggest change is the simplification of the process.

  • Previous Formula: Required two layers with a waiting period in between.
  • New Formula: Requires only one layer.

This drastically cuts down the application time, making professional installers much more efficient.

2. Superior Water and Dirt Repellency

The New Formula offers much stronger water repellency. This improvement also means enhanced resistance against stains, dirt, and environmental contamination. The result is a highly effective “easy-to-clean” surface, making daily maintenance simpler and quicker.

3. Long-Lasting Durability

You can rely on this coating for years of protection.

  • Previous Durability: 1.5 years.
  • New Durability: Up to 2 years.

This extended lifespan provides more reliable, long-term protection for the PPF.

4. The Smoothest Application Yet

The old-fashioned formula was also not very easy to handle at times as it stuck extremely firmly thus it became a challenge to spread and wipe.

  • The New Formula spreads easier, is smoother, and is wiped off easier.

This will make the application easier to use and reduce the chances of mistakes and make the experience enjoyable even to the first-time users.

Where to Use Nasiol PPFGuard

PPFGuard is specifically formulated for flexible film surfaces.

The ideal surfaces for application are:

  • Paint Protection Films (PPF).
  • Polyurethane (PU) films, both Matt and Transparent.
  • High Quality PVC Films.
  • Vinyls.

Do not apply the product on:

  • Any film without resistance to solvents.
  • PPF with existing bubbles.
  • Absorbent surfaces.
  • Temporary road films.

Step-by-Step Guide: Professional Application

To achieve the best results and the maximum 2-year durability, follow these professional steps closely. For optimal bonding, try to apply the product in a shaded area where the temperature is between 5°C and 30°C and relative humidity is 50% or lower.

1. Preparation is Key (The Foundation)

A thoroughly clean and dry surface is critical for the nano coating to bond.

  • Wash: Wash your vehicle thoroughly and gently.
  • Polish (Optional): If the PPF surface is suitable, polishing treatments using silicone-free products can be applied.
  • Dry: Dry the vehicle thoroughly to prevent water drops on the surface.
  • Decontaminate: Prepare the surface by using Nasiol Clean to eliminate dust, dirt, wax, oil, grease, and other contamination. This improves the coating’s bonding performance. Ensure the surface is thoroughly dried before starting.

2. The Single-Layer Application

  • Section Off: Partition the application area visually. Do not work on an area larger than 1 m² at a time. Overlapping edges between partitions will not cause issues.
  • Prep the Product: Gently shake the bottle before use. Place the small suede cloth onto the applicator block. Pour the necessary amount of product onto the suede cloth. Recap the bottle immediately to prevent air contact and evaporation.
  • Spread: Spread the product gently over the surface using the suede cloth in a crisscross motion or in horizontal and vertical movements.

3. Wipe-Off and Curing (The Critical Finish)

  • Wipe-Off: Wait until beading takes place. This is normally within the 30-45 seconds when everything is normal. Wipe the surface with Nasiol microfiber cloth, wiping the remainder product off. Wipe with straight movements so that a smooth finish is achieved and no swirling takes place.
  • Check: Turn a lighting system on, so as to leave no residue of products on the surface.
  • Drying: Dry to touch Time of the product is 4 hours. During the period of curing, keep the coated surface out of the sun, heavy dust, water, or any other type of contaminants.
  • Usage of the vehicle: 24 hours after the application, the vehicle can be taken outdoors.
  • Washing: For the first 48 hours, do not wash the surface with shampoo or detergents.

Important Note: Once the product is cured, it is very difficult to remove the coating from the film surface. Removal can only be achieved by polishing or replacing the related section of the PPF.
