Why do windshield wipers chatter or skip after detailing the glass?
Chatter can come from contaminated blades, uneven glass coatings, residue or a mismatch between the wiper rubber and the treated surface. Cleaning both the glass and the wiper edge, then checking for worn blades, a bent wiper arm or uneven coating application, usually identifies the cause. Many hydrophobic glass treatments reduce chatter once they have fully cured and any excess has been buffed off.
