Why do I get water spots even though my car is ceramic coated?
Ceramic coatings repel water, but they do not prevent dissolved minerals from staying behind when droplets evaporate. Strong beading can even create small, concentrated droplets that dry into distinct circular spots, especially on horizontal panels in the sun. A coating makes fresh spots easier to remove than on bare paint, but it does not make the car spot-proof. Prompt drying, avoiding sprinklers and hard rinse water, and periodic mineral decontamination are still necessary.
