Does modern car leather need conditioning?
Most modern car leather is pigmented and coated with a protective topcoat, so it absorbs far less conditioner than older or uncoated leather. Regular cleaning to remove dirt and oils matters more than frequent conditioning. A light conditioner or protectant can help with feel and UV resistance, but heavy use can leave a greasy residue. Aniline and semi-aniline leathers are exceptions and need products made specifically for them.
